Why Do We Celebrate Independence Day?
We celebrate the Declaration of Independence for two reasons. It represents an official severing of ties between the original 13 colonies and the rule of Great Britain. But it also represents the core of our beliefs, the very makeup of our identity as citizens of the U.S. Thomas Jefferson, the author of the Declaration of Independence, combined a rich a history of ideas and eloquently presented them to the then King of Great Britain along with a list of grievances.

Are VA Loan Rates and Costs Lower?
A loan rates are lower on average than other major loan programs. And Veterans can only be charged certain fees approved by the VA. Recent data shows how low rates and fees of the zero-down-payment loan program can be.

It’s true that nearly 90 percent of all VA loans are obtained without a down payment. Naturally, one might assume that a zero down payment comes higher rates and costs compared to other types of home loans, right? -

Top Of The World: Marine Amputee Makes History
A combat-wounded Marine veteran whose injuries in a 2011 blast in Afghanistan led to the amputation of his right leg below his knee made good on his third attempt to scale the world's highest peak, Mount Everest. He made the climb as part of "Operation Everest: 2016," a team assembled by The Heroes Project, a nonprofit group that sponsors climbing expeditions for wounded warriors and active-duty soldiers.

The Face of PTSD - Documentary
A team of filmmakers vow to break down the stigma and stereotypes associated with post-traumatic stress disorder among veterans with a new documentary showcasing the success stories of those who’ve broken through the fog after war. “We believe that the mainstream media has chosen to go with stories that have shock value, rather than telling the stories of veterans who deal with the disorder but still lead highly productive lives,” said Derek Brown, director of “The Face of PTSD,” now in preproduction.
