The fall semester will be here before you know it, and with it comes new and returning students flooding back onto campus. August is the perfect time to get back into the Husker spirit, soak up some campus energy and start the semester on the right foot.

Meditation class | Recreation and Wellness Center
12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Aug. 19
Need a breather before the semester gets rolling? The Recreation and Wellness Center is hosting a 30-minute sound bath meditation on the third Wednesday of every month. It’s a chance for faculty and staff to slow down, reset and recharge before the fall semester heats up.

Husker Soccer faces Notre Dame | Barbara Hibner Stadium
7:05 p.m. Aug. 20
Game day is back! Head to Barbara Hibner Stadium to cheer on Husker Soccer takes on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Consider it a first taste of Big Red spirit before classes begin.

Chancellor’s BBQ | Nebraska Union: Meier Commons
5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 21
New Huskers, this one’s for you! Grab some BBQ favorites and meet members of the university’s administration while enjoying yard games, music and plenty of Husker spirit. It’s a fun way to officially kick off your Big Red experience.

Band exhibition + Tunnel Walk | Memorial Stadium
7 p.m. Aug. 26
Get ready for some Husker tradition! Start your night with tunes from the “Pride of All Nebraska” at the Cornhusker Marching Band’s annual exhibition for a preview of what’s to come this fall.
Then, stick around for the iconic Tunnel Walk. New students will gather at Memorial Stadium for the Tunnel Walk and class photo, marking the beginning of their college careers. The class photo will be taken at 9 p.m., followed by a light show.
Talk about a Big Red welcome!
Husker Night at the Ballpark | Haymarket Park
7:05 p.m. Aug. 28
Trade the football field for the baseball diamond and head to Haymarket Park for Husker Night at the Ballpark! UNL students, faculty and staff can catch the Lincoln Saltdogs take on the Kansas City Monarchs with discounted or free tickets.
Faculty and staff can purchase tickets through the Lincoln Saltdogs using promo code HUSKER for $6 off each ticket. Students can pick up free tickets through the Office of Student Leadership, Involvement and Community Engagement.
And because no summer night at the ballpark is complete without a little extra fun, the game will feature a free T-shirt giveaway and postgame fireworks.
