Open Letter to Veterans from Dept. of Education
For every service member, veteran, or their family member (in the case of the post-9/11 G.I. Bill®) enrolled at a for-profit college and paying with military education funds, that college can enroll nine other students who rely entirely on federal student aid money—making it an entirely taxpayer-funded enterprise.

Best for Vets: Colleges 2016 — our top 175 schools
For the first time in the history of Best for Vets rankings, a majority of schools — around 57 percent — were able to provide at least one type of veteran-specific academic outcome data metric, such as retention, graduation or course completion rates.

America's changing perception of veterans
"The way Americans see veterans is changing. Throughout my 26 years in the Army, I have seen this shift firsthand." Two polls released today by Got Your 6 and ServiceNation reveal that the nation's perception of veterans is changing to better reflect the realities of those who served. Only one year ago, the "broken hero" narrative was the norm. Americans believed that veterans were more likely to be homeless, unemployed, or were all suffering from post traumatic stress. That perception is beginning to shift as Americans start to see veterans in a new light.

Medal of Honor Recipient Tackled Suicide Bomber, Saved Lives
He tackled a suicide bomber while serving in Afghanistan, saving fellow soldiers' lives while suffering a gruesome leg injury. During three years of recovery and more than 30 surgeries at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Army Capt. Florent Groberg was left with a lot of time to think.

Army to Deploy 101st Airborne Soldiers to Oversee Iraqi Army Training
The U.S. Army is sending 500 soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) to Iraq and Kuwait in early 2016 to advise and assist Iraqi Security Forces. The 101st headquarters element will assume the role of Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command-Iraq, replacing the 82nd Airborne Division headquarters, according to a Nov. 6 Army press release.
